TCL Technology Group Company was founded in 1981 in Huizhou, Guangdong, China, originally as TTK, an audio cassette manufacturer. Renamed TCL in 1985, the company expanded into telecommunications and the television market, becoming a dominant force in China. TCL is now a global consumer electronics and home appliances brand, serving worldwide markets with products including television sets, mobile phones, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and robot vacuum cleaners. They are known for making affordable 4K TVs and selling products under the TCL brand (for TVs and AC units globally) as well as Alcatel Mobile, Thomson, and RCA brands for other products.
